Soc una línia
Les Kol·lontai
Details
Introduction
Soc una línea, a first single that opens the new path for Les Kol·lontai with an album dedicated to the feminist struggle.
In 2017, coinciding with the centenary of the Bolshevik Revolution, Les Kol·lontai was born, a group created by singer-songwriters Sílvia Comes, Meritxell Gené, Ivette Nadal and Montse Castellà, with the intention of bringing a message of feminist protest through music. What was initially a one-off concert became a tour with more than thirty performances and the album Cançons Violeta.
Seven years later, Meritxell Gené and Ivette Nadal return with a new album, more feminist than ever, produced by Valen Nieto and with collaborations from Marc Cros and Xarlie Oliver, and which will be released this fall. This new album explores diverse themes such as identity, empowerment, motherhood and war, through poems by poets such as Maria Mercè Marçal, Frida Kahlo, Anna Dodas and Alda Merini, among others. With a clearly pop style and an accessible approach, Les Kol·lontai want to bring feminist poetry closer to the general public.
Ivette Nadal, poet and singer-songwriter, composes and performs Soc una línia, accompanied on vocals by the also singer-songwriter, Meritxell Gené. A song where with the soft, but firm lines of their voices, they transmit an intimacy and strength typical of women like them.
Accompanied by a creative video clip, Les Kollontai, with this first single invite us to explore their commitment to identity, empowerment and feminist poetry that defines the project.
