Pep Lladó and Los Manolos

Details
Introduction
Pep Lladó composed “Sota la palmera” in the early nineties, and it was first released on the debut album of AI AI AI (Això Brama – Ariola). It immediately became one of the first anthems of Rumba Catalana sung in Catalan and an essential song at every rumba party.
Thirty years later, Pep again incorporated the song into his solo repertoire, and did so with the collaboration of one of the most emblematic groups of the genre: Los Manolos.
This new recording of the song exudes the complicity of a group of friends who, after many years of accumulating rumba wisdom, meet to share their art.
From the first Ai, Ai, Ai albums until now, in his solo works, Pep has never stopped pushing the expressive language of Catalan rumba to the limit, combining it with jazz, African music or French song.
Pep Lladó is a Catalan musician, composer and producer with a long career in the music industry. He has collaborated with numerous artists, standing out for his ability to innovate and adapt to new times without losing his artistic identity.
